What I Learned While MIA!

I am so glad spring is near!
Previous St Patrick's Day parade in Savannah, Ga.

ERIN GO BRAUGH!

It has been a long and stressful winter for Bob and me. We are still attempting to resolve some of Bob's health issues. I ask for your prayers that he will be getting around better very soon.

Recently, Bob asked me why I wasn't blogging and expressed the thought that I should get back to it. We all know I ALWAYS do what Bob says. I really do!

Today I would like to share something I learned over the last few weeks.
EVERYONE IS TEXTING BUT ME!

I tried it but I was horrible at it.
I really needed to study up on this texting thingie.
Well, I ran across some acronyms that should fit the lifestyles of my peers.

Perhaps these shortcuts
will make YOUR texting more meaningful.

Young people have theirs,
now Seniors have their own texting codes:

ATD- At the Doctor's

BFF - Best Friends Funeral

BTW- Bring the Wheelchair

BYOT - Bring Your Own Teeth

CBM- Covered by Medicare

CUATSC- See You at the Senior Center

DWI- Driving While Incontinent

FWIW - Forgot Where I Was

* GGPBL- Gotta Go, Pacemaker Battery Low

GHA - Got Heartburn Again

HGBM Had Good Bowel Movement

* LMDO- Laughing My Dentures Out

LOL- Living on Lipitor

OMSG - Oh My! Sorry, Gas

TOTTexting on Toilet

WAITT - Who Am I Talking To?
DON'T TEXT AND DRIVE POST!

Have an awesome Day!
Just don't expect a text from me anytime soon.

I can't find TDSB (the d*** send button)
but I will be back HERE
in a couple of days.

Glad to see you posting, Ginger. I don't text either and I find it annoying when I am trying to talk to someone and they can't pause their texting long enough to reply. I am continuing to pray for SOB (Sweet Old Bob) that his health improves and that your life hits a normal keel soon-- xo Diana

Always so happy to see a post, Ginger. Bob is right, you should be blogging, at least once a week, perhaps? A good place to vent ;-) xo P.S. I don't text because I have an ancient phone without a keyboard. :(

So cute! I do love those shortcuts for Seniors! I text with my daughter and grandson, but you wouldn't belive some of the words I type. I think my fingers are too fat or something. Sometimes, I just give up and call them. It's hard keeping up with the times.

Sorry to hear your husband is not doing well. Prayers for him!

Take care...it was great to see your post. Have a great week!

So good to see you back! I know how it is when health issues get you down. Praying for Bob! I can't text well at all, but now that I have the 'senior' abbreviations I'm all set!
Big Hugs,
Linda

You're not alone, my love. I don't text, either!!! I have no interest in it. I prefer to use full sentences and proper grammar and to express emotions rather than emoticons! :-) I would rather sit down and write a letter ANY DAY of the week. I remember letter writing....I loved it. The computer is the next best thing (much faster and a little cheaper than stamps these days!), but the young'uns can keep their texting. My Mom is 84 and an avid texter. She calls me old-fashioned. That's OK. :-) Here's a BIG HUG for Bob. Please give it to him so that he will feel better and start to get around better. Now here's a BIG HUG for you, too!!! Have a happy week!!! :-)

Hello, I was just blog hopping and just happened to hop into your blog. My kids are always telling me I need to start texting and I always ask them, "Why?" So much easier to just to click on their number and talk to them!! Of course, they roll their eyes. lol Enjoyed the St Patrick's Day parade and enjoyed my visit. So glad I found you. Blessings

Good to have you back, Ginger. I fought the trend for a long time but gave into texting a year or so ago. Had to because of a few friends and my sister. I've come to really appreciate it. ~ Cute list of acronyms. '-)

So happy to see you posting again! (Thx, Bob!) At least you learning a thing or two...I am not sure I have. I am feeling better and could be posting, but my mind shuts down and won't cooperate! I need Dr Phil or someone, doncha think?
Anyway, you are setting such a good example, that I will make myself try harder to get back in the swing!
Thanks for being my BBFF (best blogging friend forever)!
Hugs,

This is HILARIOUS, Ginger! You often make me laugh with your posts (the painted hydrangeas, for example). I'm so happy to see you posting again! And thanks for visiting my post and for your sweet comments. Yes, I DO remember that you like blue and white--I even remember your lovely home with lots of blue. My prayers for Bob's health, and hugs to you, ~Zuni

Dearest Ginger,
That was my last funny thing before jumping in bed. Too late, I know that! But I did write to Mom & Dad as I am mailing them lots of things, also from my blog. Hugs to you and thanks so much for the great explanation. You are such a dear! People told us 'only' that those were slave houses when we came here in 1983... I should have known better.
Hugs, also to Mr. Bob!

Hi Ginger! I hope no one expects me to text anytime soon. I'm sad to say that I'm not up on that either. I'm sorry to hear that Bob has been having health problems and the tough winter ya'll have had because of them. I'm so glad to see a post from you and I will be sending up prayers.

Warm Hugs…Tracy @ Cotton Pickin Cute
